R36 Preservation Inc. is a nonprofit organization established to restore and preserve the 1964 St. Louis Car IRT R36 cars 9400 and 9401 on the New York City Subway's IRT #7 Flushing Route. We hope to restore these cars, which were built in 1964 for World's Fair service and eventually run charter, excursion and special event service with these cars as well as educating about their history and the New York World's Fair.
